Seen Jeem

Multilanguage trivia game for family game nights, with team play, 60+ categories and thousands of questions

Project brief

What this project does

Seen Jeem (سين جيم) is a trivia game for family game nights. It's built in both Arabic and English different questions and categories. One host runs the game on a shared screen, like a TV or a laptop.

Players form 2 to 4 teams, each with its own name, icon, color, and players, and choose up to 6 categories. Each game starts with a fresh board of easy, medium, and hard questions worth 100, 200, and 300 points.

Questions are picked at random, and none repeats in the same game, even one that sits in more than one category. They come as plain text, as images you can tap to enlarge, or as multiple choice with options the host reveals one by one.

The host shows the answer and gives the points to the team that got it right. When the board is cleared, a leaderboard crowns the winning team with a burst of confetti.

Behind the scenes, a FilamentPHP admin panel manages categories, questions, languages, and game sessions. New questions arrive through an automated AI pipeline. Scheduled crawlers collect them, AI translates them, adds options, and rates their difficulty, and a vector database flags any that are too close to questions already in the bank.

Client engagement

Case study

The challenge

Most trivia games of this kind are paid, and many charge for every round you play. Yet most of their questions are general knowledge you can find online for free, so families keep paying for content that's already out there.

What we built

We collected that free content into our own question bank. Crawlers check popular trivia sites on a schedule, then AI cleans up each question, translates it, adds answer options when needed, and sets its difficulty. A vector database flags anything too close to a question we already have.

The outcome

Families can play as many rounds as they want without paying for each one. The pipeline runs by itself, so new questions keep coming in both languages with very little manual work, and duplicates are caught before they reach a game.
